Violence in Manipur is not stopping. In Manipur, despite the curfew, one person was killed and two others injured in separate incidents in Bishnupur district on Wednesday (May 24). According to reports, some anti-social elements set fire to 4 houses. The incident was in response to a fire on May 23.

Earlier on Tuesday, some people of a community set fire to 3 houses in Faubakchao of Bishnupur. After which people from other communities set fire to 4 more houses in response to that violence. One person died in this incident. While 2 were seriously injured.

On the other hand, Congress has targeted the BJP government regarding the situation in Manipur. Congress leader Ajay Kumar alleged that since May 5, 70 dead bodies have been lying in the mortuary of Imphal Hospital. 18 dead bodies are lying in Churachandpur Mortuary, no one to pick them up. This is the situation in Manipur.

In view of the violent incidents, the district administration has canceled the relaxation of curfew in Bishnupur, Imphal East and Imphal West districts. Earlier, curfew was relaxed from 5 am to 4 pm.

Let us tell you that violence has erupted in Manipur since May 3, which is still going on. Although an indefinite curfew was imposed and internet services suspended, reports of violence continued.

Tension prevailed in the state as the Meitei community had been agitating for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for long. The All Tribal Students Union of Manipur (ATSUM), a Manipuri student body, also took out a procession against their demand, sparking controversy.
