The NIA team will go to Nagpur today to investigate the threat received by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. According to sources, the NIA team will start its investigation after taking all the documents related to the case from the police.
In January and March, Nitin Gadkari received an extortion threat of 110 crores. Nagpur police has revealed in its investigation that the accused arrested in this case is connected with a terrorist organization. In this case Nagpur Police has arrested a gangster named Jayesh Pujari from Belgaum Jail. The arrest was made after a tip-off that the gangster had called from Belgaum jail. The case was handed over to the NIA after the Nagpur police investigation found significant clues of Jayesh Pujari’s links with terrorist outfits.
The case was registered in Bengaluru
The NIA registered a case in Bengaluru for allegedly threatening a Union minister and the central agency’s Mumbai unit was directed to investigate. The NIA team will probe the arrested accused’s connection with terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and the underworld.
On January 14, a threatening phone call was received
In this case, the police said that on January 14, Pujari made a threatening phone call to Gadkari’s public relations office in Nagpur. He demanded Rs 100 crore over the phone and claimed to be a member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang. At the time of the call, he was lodged in a jail in the neighboring state of Karnataka.

Police said the accused made another call on March 21. He also threatened to harm a BJP Lok Sabha MP from Nagpur for not paying Rs 10 crore. Pujari was arrested on March 28 from a jail in Karnataka’s Belagavi city and brought to Nagpur where the strict Unlawful Activities Act was enforced against him.
