How is the Misery Index calculated?
The Misery Index has been calculated by Professor Steve Hanks of North Hopkins University.
This index doubles the unemployment rate, the inflation rate, the bank lending rate minus the real GDP growth rate, which makes up the misery index. The country that comes first according to the index is considered the poorest country, while the happiest country comes last.
