Various topics were discussed in sports science workshop

Mumbai : A first of its kind Sports Science Workshop was organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) in Mumbai. Various topics related to sports science were discussed in the workshop.

The first sports science workshop under ‘Vision 2047’ for Indian professional match officials was organized in Mumbai on Monday, the AIFF said on Tuesday. The workshop was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sandeep Kumar, sports science expert of All India Football Federation. In the workshop, Dr Kumar discussed various topics such as enhancing physical fitness, strength and conditioning, recovery protocols, diet and nutrition, body composition, specific training plans, metabolism, rhythm etc.

Trevor Kettle, AIFF’s chief refereeing officer, said in a statement: “I would like to express my gratitude to Dr Sandeep for the support he has provided to professional match officials with an introduction to various sports science topics. This has fueled match officials’ imagination and desire to push their own individual performances. I have personally seen the benefits of sports science during my refereeing career. I congratulate Dr. Sandeep for this great work.
