Nainital: The ‘Ultra Warrior Nainital Trail Ultra Run’ race was held in the city in sections of 64, 50, 30 and 10 km from Ratighat, the city’s highest peak, to Naina Peak. Kamal Bisht won first, Yash second and Rajneesh third in the 64 km category, Victor first, Navneet second and Akesh third in the 50 km category and Balwinder Kaur in the women’s 64 km category and Shashi Mehta in the 50 km category.

Akesh Tiwari, who finished third in the 50 km category of the competition, said he completed the race in just 8 hours and 14 minutes. The route of this marathon had an altitude of about 3000 meters, meaning that the runners measured the depth from an altitude of three thousand meters. The run started from Doonikhal, Ratighat and passed through China Peak, Birla Chungi, Bhawali Sanatorium. Akesh finished the run. He said that Ultra Warrior is an ultra running challenge which is organized every year in Nainital. It is organized by Rizwan Siddiqui.

According to organizer Rizwan, this is an interesting and challenging trail run organized by ‘Run Green Foundation’. Runners from all the states of the country as well as foreign runners also participate in this. This time also many local and international ultra runners participated in the marathon.
