Five houses in Kutch caught fire due to fireworks during a wedding ceremony

Jalaun: Firecrackers were burst during a wedding ceremony in Konch Kotwali area on Monday midnight. Five buildings were gutted in the fire caused by its sparks.

Moolchand’s daughter Prabhadevi got married in Bhadri village on Monday. Late at night, the groom Sandeep arrived with a procession. Meanwhile, the Dwarchar program was going on at 2 o’clock in the night and the Baratis were bursting firecrackers. In the meantime, sparks from the firecrackers fell into the bark of Ramprasad’s house, which started a fire. Due to strong winds, the fire took a ferocious form.

Gradually the fire spread to the house of Ram Prasad’s brother Rameshwar and the house of Ramlal, his two sons Dasharath and Rinku. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt in five houses due to fire. Seeing the flames, the wedding ceremony was disrupted. Fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control after being informed by the villagers. But till then Ramprasad’s house with Rs. 20,000 in cash was also burnt to ashes. The household belongings of Ramprasad’s brother Rameshwar were also burnt to ashes in this fire. When Rinku’s son Ramlal’s four goats were burnt and consumed. Along with this, sound service goods worth approximately Rs.1.5 lakh and cash worth Rs.80,000, motorcycle, flour mill and grains were burnt. Household goods of Rinku’s brother Dasharath and household goods of Ramlal and cash Rs. 70,000 were burnt to ashes. One person was also burnt in this fire. The fire brigade brought the fire under control after a lot of effort.
