Know these rules before depositing Rs 2000 note in PNB, Bank has issued guidelines

PNB Rs 2000 note exchange guideline: After SBI, now Punjab National Bank has issued guidelines for depositing Rs 2,000 notes. If you are also going to change 2000 rupee notes in PNB or SBI bank branches, then you should know some things.

Punjab National Bank said that to exchange Rs 2000 note, you do not need to have Aadhaar card, officially verified documents and fill any form. The bank has given its information to all the branches. The PNB official has given this information when fake news of personal details of notes being changed was coming. The bank said that only Rs 2000 notes can be deposited in the bank without any documents.

SBI also gave information

It is going viral on social media that to exchange 2000 rupee note one has to fill a form with Aadhaar card. On this, SBI issued a guideline saying that people will not need to fill documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card or any form to change 2000 rupee note. You can exchange or deposit notes by visiting any branch.

How did the illusion arise?

Old forms of transaction of Rs 2000 note were going viral on social media. In such a situation, a situation of confusion arose among the people. However, after the information received from RBI, it was clarified that there is no need to fill any documents and forms. After this SBI and now PNB have given clarification on this.

50 thousand PAN and Aadhaar card on the amount above Rs.

According to RBI, you can deposit 10 notes of 2000 rupees at a time i.e. 20 thousand rupees. On depositing more than this amount, according to the rules, the bank has to show PAN and Aadhaar card.

It may be noted that the process of changing the 2000 rupee note is starting from today. Common people will be given the facility to exchange Rs 2000 notes over the counter in general. A person can change only a maximum of 20 thousand notes at a time. To change the notes, you can easily go to your bank or any other branch and get 2000 10 notes i.e. up to 20 thousand notes changed, for this you do not need to fill any form or show your ID.
