Firozabad: Sudha murder case accused arrested in police encounter

Firozabad: An encounter between the accused and the police took place on Monday midnight in the case of the shooting death of a woman from Sarerah three days ago in North Police Station area. The miscreant was injured by the police bullet. He has been admitted to hospital for treatment in police custody.

Sudha Jadaun (52), a resident of Tilak Nagar in North Police Station area, was shot dead on Saturday. At the time of the incident, Sudha Tilak was going to have her neck physiotherapy done at the medical college near her husband Deshpal, who was standing with a bike at the Nagar curve. She had to go to medical college with her husband. In this regard, the police registered a case of murder and started investigation.

The city’s Additional Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said on Tuesday that North Station In-charge Narendra Kumar Sharma was on patrol with a police team late on Monday night. That is why during the checking near Nagla Pan Sahay, one of the miscreants fired at the police team and tried to escape with the intention of killing them. In the encounter, the miscreant was injured when a police bullet hit him in the leg. The police team arrested him.

The miscreant caught during interrogation revealed his name as Akash Putra Lokendra, resident of Nagla Pan Sahay. Illegal firearms, cartridges and the murder weapon used in the incident were recovered from his possession. The accused has been admitted to hospital for treatment under police protection. The arrested accused Akash has confessed to killing the woman Sudha.

The ASP said that it has been noticed that the woman was killed because of an extra-marital affair. Now the interrogation of the arrested accused is going on.
