The Central Government has made an important decision related to the 2000 rupee notes on 19th May. It has been decided that the notes will be phased out and its circulation will be eliminated. The notes must be deposited in the bank by 3oth of September. Also, the RBI has immediately halted the issuance of 2000 Rupee notes to banks. Amidst this news, there is an update related to the 100, 200 and 500 rupee notes.
PNB has brought a special offer
We know that various false news is circulated regarding the notes from time to time. However, now the government-owned banks, PNB, has introduced an offer where you can easily exchange the old and damaged currencies. PNB will be providing completely new notes.
PNB has notified its customers that they can, at any time, exchange their damaged notes in any of the branch of the bank conveniently.
The RBI’s New Regulations
According to the new regulations of the RBI, if a person has old, torn or damaged notes, they don’t need to worry at all. They can visit any branch convenient to them and exchange their respective notes. If a bank employee refuses to exchange the notes, the customer can file a complaint about it as well. However, it must be kept in mind that the value of the note decreases as its condition declines.
