Vigilance Bureau arrests forest officer and drug smuggler for taking Rs 70,000 bribe

Malerkotla: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Block Forest Officers Ramandeep Singh and Munish Kumar Darog, posted in the Malerkotla Forest Range, for accepting a bribe of Rs 70,000 during its anti-corruption drive.

Giving more information about this, the spokesperson said that the complainant has alleged in the online complaint that the said forest workers have taken 70 thousand rupees as a bribe in return for not charging heavy fines for felling forest trees. has gone

The spokesperson further said that the vigilance unit of Patiala range had investigated the allegations made in the online complaint and had collected from the complainant Rs. 70,000 after being found guilty of accepting a bribe of Rs. 70,000 and arrested both the accused. In this regard, a corruption case has been registered against the said employees in Vigilance Police Station, Patiala and both have been arrested. The accused will be produced in court tomorrow.
