Why exchange of ₹2000 notes is allowed without ID proof? The BJP leader himself filed the PIL

The issue of demonetisation of Rs 2000 notes is currently under discussion. The matter has now reached the Delhi High Court. BJP leader and lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay has filed a Public Interest Litigation in the High Court. The PIL said that without any demand slip and identity card Rs. It is demanded in this petition

The petition said that this step will help in eliminating corruption, benami transactions. Therefore, it has been requested in the petition to give proper notice to the government and RBI in this regard.

Notes can be exchanged from May 23

The Reserve Bank has issued an FAQ and it has been said that the process of replacement of old Rs 2000 notes will start from May 23, 2023 and can be replaced till September 30. If you also have these notes then no need to panic, you can easily exchange them by going to the bank.

ID card will not be required

The State Bank of India has said in its notification that no one will have to provide eye proof or fill any form to exchange Rs 2000 note. 2000 to 20,000 rupees notes can be easily exchanged in one go.
