Dhamtari: Arrest of old mother who killed her son

Dhamtri: On Monday, the police arrested the youth’s mother in the case of brutal murder of a youth in Bazar Para of Gram Panchayat Gangrel. She was troubled by her son’s deteriorating mental condition due to her medical expenses and daily fights with her son’s in-laws. He went to the house of his daughter-in-law’s maternal uncle and killed his son.

According to details received from Rudri Police, Ganesh Patel (40 years), son of Santram Patel, was stabbed to death with a sharp weapon in the stomach on May 15 in Bazar Para Gangrel. After the mother of the deceased, Phuleshwari Patel, came to know, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The police questioned the people around the house of the deceased. It was later learned that there were fights and quarrels in the house with the wife of the deceased and his mother-in-law. After this, the police interrogated the mother of the deceased, in which the needle of suspicion began to turn on her. During intense interrogation, the mother of the deceased said that she was fed up with her son’s treatment and quarrels with her daughter-in-law due to his deteriorating mental condition. A week ago, his son Ganesh Patel said that he has no house and no money. He wanted to come and live in the old house with his wife. She did not want to keep her daughter-in-law with her.

Due to which there was a quarrel with the son. The son’s mental condition was not good since childhood and was being treated at Mana Tuta Mental Hospital. Due to his son’s mental condition, he used to beat him in the following days. Being a mother, she had to bear the cost of medicines for her treatment. On May 14, deceased Ganesh’s wife had gone to her maternal uncle’s house in Bardebhantha Kanker for marriage. As the son was found alone, the accused believed that on 15th May at 3 o’clock in the morning, the son Ganesh Patel killed himself by stabbing him in the stomach with a sickle kept in the kitchen. The police have arrested the accused Phuleshwari Sahu (65) in the crime of murder. Further proceedings are underway.
