Kolkata: The division bench also upheld the single bench judgment of the Calcutta High Court on the CBI probe into the scam in appointments in various municipalities of West Bengal. A division bench of Justice Apoorva Sinha Sarkar and Justice Vishwajit Basu passed the order on Monday.
Central agency advocate Feroze Edulji told the court that teacher appointment corruption and corporation appointments are interlinked. Teacher appointment and municipal appointment documents have been recovered from the house of promoter Ayan Sheel, who was arrested on April 14 in the appointment case. Based on this, Justice Abhijit Ganguly ordered the CBI to investigate both the cases. State government advocate Jaideep Kar said that the two cases are not related to each other. On that, the court said that it will be clear only after investigation. Both the appointment documents have been recovered from the house of the same person. He has already been arrested. Hence CBI investigation will continue in this matter.
