Members of Bharat Scouts and Guides served cold water to passengers at Sarnath railway station.

Varanasi: Everyone is troubled by the intense sun and heat in the month of Jeth. Members of the District Federation of India Scouts and Guides have taken an initiative to quench the thirst of passengers traveling in railways. On Monday, volunteers under the direction of District Commissioner Scouts and Guides and Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Anubhav Pathak conducted a free drinking program at Sarnath station.

Volunteers provided water with the help of pitchers and buckets to passengers traveling in scorching heat on trains coming and going to Sarnath railway station. Along with this water was also filled in the bottles of the passengers. With the theme ‘Giving water to thirst is a virtue’, the scout members offered water to the passengers on behalf of the scout-guides in the reservation coaches of the trains departing from Buddhasthali station. Passengers felt relieved by drinking cool water in the scorching heat. There was joy among the passengers trapped in the general coach when the Boy Scout arrived with water. A smile appeared on his face and he quenched his thirst by taking water from the children one by one. The passengers also expressed their gratitude to the Railway Administration and Scout-Guide members for the water service provided by the scout boys. The program was led by Gauri Kumari, Shreya Tiwari, Akanksha Tiwari, Rani Yadav, Apita Yadav, Akshara Yadav and Ashutosh Kumar of Gandhi Group, Kajal Rai and Shivangi Yadav led by Adesh Dubey, Mother Teresa Team Leader Ishan Railway Scout and Guide. District Sangh., Anant Yadav, Abhiraj Kumar, Kshitij Tiwari, Vishal Gautam, Himashu Kumar Vishwakama, Rahmat Ali, Saurabh Singh etc. participated in the charity work.
