Udaipur: Vinod Melana, Area Convenor of Environment Conservation Activities of Rajasthan region said that we have to come forward with self-motivation to protect nature and cooperate in taking the One Tree Country campaign to the masses.

He was addressing volunteers from sowing seeds to planting saplings in Udaipur at a special program of the second year of Sangh Shiksha Varga of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Melana requested that we take this campaign forward by planting nurseries and seeds from house to house. Let us start it from our home, from our area, from our city. He said that more and more trees should be planted for environmental balance, water should be conserved and cities should be made polythene free, for this we all have to go ahead with the tree plantation drive by January 14, 2024 at a fast pace. For this, starting with ourselves, we have to collect the seeds of vegetables and fruits that come to our homes and plant them in the house pots. It has to be watered throughout the year and raised as a plant. In a year, when that plant grows, plant it in a park near our house. Aim to plant at least 10 seeds per household. A family should approach at least 100 families and motivate them to accelerate the tree plantation drive by sowing seeds. He said that the campaign started from January 14, 2023 across India.

He said that planting trees and taking care of them is scientific. Even doctors suggest us to do gardening when we are depressed, anxious. The essence is that when we flow the sequence of development with our own hands, the mind experiences a sense of joy, due to which the stress is removed and the mind starts to move according to its nature. Connection with nature is the solution to all diseases. When a person starts holding nature in his hands, he automatically becomes determined to protect it.

Under the Sankalp program, 219 students were experimented with planting trees from seeds. All the volunteers were given bags filled with soil. He sowed two seeds in these clay pots. For 20 days, the students will water it and at the end of the class, they will take the Sakor home and plant it in a pot. Every year on Pratap Jayanthi, the birthday of the sapling planted by him will also be celebrated.

State Convenor of Environmental Protection Activities Narayan Gameti, Udaipur Division Convenor Nahar Singh Tanwar, Udaipur Metropolitan Convenor Manish Meghwal and others were present during the Sankalp programme.
