Punjab Weather: Scorching heat in Punjab, mercury close to 45 degrees, yellow alert for three days

Punjab Weather: The mercury in Punjab rose by 2.2 degrees to 44.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Due to scorching heat, the condition of people has become dire. However, people may get relief soon.

Rain forecast

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for three days in Punjab from Tuesday (May 23). Meanwhile, thunder and lightning will occur in most parts of Punjab. Light to moderate rain is likely at some places on Monday also. Due to which the temperature is likely to drop by 3 to 5 degrees.

Bad condition of Punjab due to heat

 

Punjab’s maximum temperature on Sunday was 3.4 degrees Celsius above normal. Samarala was the hottest with a temperature of 44.6 degrees. While in other cities of Punjab the temperature of Amritsar was 43.0, Ludhiana 42.5, Patiala 43.5, Bathinda 44.0, Ferozepur 43.1, Gurdaspur 42.1, Ropar 40.0 degrees Celsius. An increase of 0.2 degrees was recorded in the minimum temperature. However, it remained close to normal. Roper recorded the lowest temperature at 21.4 degrees.

How was the weather in the capital?

According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 42.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday, three degrees above normal. The IMD said relative humidity levels ranged between 25 to 74 percent. According to the department, the minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal. Due to this temperature of Delhi, the atmosphere of Delhi has become humid.
