Kolkata: Senior BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari has also demanded a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the blast at the crackers factory in Nandrampur Daspada. Three people, including a minor girl, are being claimed dead in this incident that took place on Sunday night. Regarding this, Shubhendu attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Twitter on Monday morning.
He wrote that the smell of burnt flesh and fragments of blasts still lingered in the air in Igra Khadikul village in East Mednipur. The condition of those injured in this incident is still critical. Meanwhile, another blast has also taken place in Nandrampur Daspada village of Bajbuz. Three people have died so far, all of them women. All three have died due to burning. The death toll may rise. This is a repeat of the blast event. I also demand NIA probe into this matter. Chief Minister (Mamata Banerjee) Did you smell burnt meat when you woke up? How many more deaths will awaken your conscience?”
It is worth mentioning that questions have been raised on the working style of the state administration even regarding the buzz blast. Here too there are allegations of making firecrackers under the protection of the police.
