Deaths due to heart disease have increased by 60 percent in the last 20 years in the world

New Delhi, May 22 (Hindustan Times). Due to changing lifestyles, heart related diseases have increased rapidly all over the world. According to a recent report by the World Heart Federation, worldwide deaths due to cardiovascular diseases (CVD) were 12.1 million in 1990, increasing to 20 million in the year 2021, an increase of 60 percent.

The report says the world will struggle to meet ambitious targets set to reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases by 25 percent by 2025 compared to 2010.

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are also a growing public health concern in India. Recent government data shows that deaths due to NCDs have increased by 63 percent in the country.

Dr. Narendra Saini explains that “It is a matter of concern that heart diseases are on the rise in the country, so people need to make healthy changes in their lives. People should include yoga, meditation, exercise and healthy diet in their daily routine.
