13.4 lakh members joined EPFO ​​in March

New Delhi, May 20 (Hindustan Times). Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has added 13.40 lakh members on net basis in the month of March. Along with this, a total of 1.39 crore members took membership of EPAFO in the last financial year 2022-23. EPFO added 1.22 crore members on net basis in the previous financial year 2021-22.

The Ministry of Labor and Employment said in data released on Saturday that 13.40 lakh members joined EPFO ​​in March. Out of this, around 7.58 lakh new members have come under the ambit of EPFO ​​for the first time. At the same time, during the financial year 2022-23, about 1.39 crore members have been added on net basis with an increase of 13.22 per cent year-on-year, while in the previous financial year, there was a net addition of 1.22 crore members.

According to EPFO, the body that manages pension funds in the country, the maximum number of new joining members was in the 18-21 age group. The number of these members was 2.35 lakh. This was followed by 1.94 lakh members in the 22-25 age group, while new members in the 18-25 age group accounted for 56.60 percent of the total members added in March. According to the data, around 10.09 lakh members have re-subscribed. On the other hand, 2.57 lakh women members were added by gender in March, which is 19.21 percent of the total members added this month.
