Kharge tweeted, “You dealt a severe blow to the economy with the first demonetisation, which destroyed the entire unorganized sector, crippled MSMEs and lost crores of jobs. Now ‘second demonetisation’ with 2000 rupees note. Is it to cover up a wrong decision? An impartial investigation will reveal the truth of the scam.
Important decision of RBI on 2000 rupee note
Significantly, the RBI on Friday announced that the Rs 2000 note will be withdrawn from circulation after September 2023. Notes of this value can be exchanged in banks from May 23. In a statement issued by the RBI in the evening, the current currency is Rs. 2,000 notes will continue to be legal tender. RBI has asked banks to facilitate deposit and exchange of these notes till September 30. However, only Rs 20,000 notes can be exchanged at a time.
