The gates of Sri Hemkunt Sahib, the famous pilgrimage site of Sikhism, will open today and the pilgrimage will begin. Today after reciting Sukhmani Sahib with full devotion and respect, first of all the pooja will take place and the kirtan will begin. The administrative system has also made complete preparations for the arrival of Sangat.
Along with this, the doors of Lokpal Lakshman Mandir will also open at 9 am. Pilgrims will leave Govind Dham at 4 am and reach Sri Hemkunt Sahib and have darshan after taking bath. A few days ago snow removal was started and even now a large amount of snow is being removed and the administration has also advised the Sangat to be cautious.
Significantly, due to inclement weather and extreme cold, pilgrims are not allowed to go to the top due to difficulty in breathing and have to return after seeing the Sangat. Kindly inform that sick people above 60 years of age cannot visit Shri Hemukant Sahib. On the appeal of the Chamoli district administration, the Gurdwara management will stop such passengers in Rishikesh itself. However, such passengers will be allowed to travel after the snow melts at Hemkunt Sahib.
