Tsunami Alert: A massive earthquake has occurred in the Pacific Ocean. Its intensity was recorded at 7.1 on the Richter scale. The US Geological Survey said that this earthquake was recorded in the eastern part of New Caledonia. The next day a massive earthquake in the same area shook the earth with a magnitude of 7.1 below sea level. A tsunami warning was issued.
The epicenter appears to have been 35 km deep in an ocean 300 km off New Caledonia. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center indicated that any tsunami waves would be up to 3 metres. Tsunami waves can hit the Pacific islands of Fiji, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna. A tsunami warning was issued for a radius of 300 km from the epicenter. Yesterday i.e. on Friday also, an earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the same area.
