G20 Meet In Kashmir: The G20 Tourism Working Group meeting is going to start in Srinagar from Monday. However, the three countries had not registered for the summit till Friday. These three countries include China, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia. Regarding this, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that China opposes the decision to organize any kind of G-20 meeting in the disputed area. So he will not attend this meeting.

 

Union Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh said that the registration process will continue till the morning of 22 May. Officials confirmed that delegates from other countries have already registered to host the three-day meeting.

Apart from India, the G20 includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. US and EU…

Importantly, in August 2019, the state was bifurcated into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. And the special status under Article 370 was revoked. After that the Srinagar G20 meeting will be the first international event to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this meeting, a big program will also be organized to promote film tourism.

Ahead of the G20 meeting in Srinagar, officials said tight security arrangements have been made, which are being monitored by the Home Ministry. Also, the city has been decorated to welcome the delegates coming here.
