2000 notes withdrawn: The Reserve Bank of India took a shocking decision on Friday. On Friday it was suddenly announced that Rs 2000 note would be withdrawn from circulation. As soon as this was announced, the fear of demonetisation again spread among the people. However, the Reserve Bank of India has declared that this is not any kind of demonetisation. RBI has said that from May 23 to September 30, people can deposit or exchange 2000 rupee notes in their accounts. RBI has also clarified that Rs 2000 note will be completely valid till 30 September.

Due to the announcement of September 30 as the deadline regarding the 2000 rupee note, many types of questions are also arising in the minds of the people. One such question is that if a person receives 2000 note after 30th September, will legal action be taken against him? Because earlier when the government had canceled the notes of 500 and 1000 rupees, then it was considered a crime to keep these notes after a fixed time limit. So is this going to happen with the Rs 2000 note? The answer to this question is that if a person has 2000 notes after September 30, then no legal action will be taken against him.

Finance Secretary TV Somanathan said during an interview that this decision is different from the demonetisation announced in 2016. It will have no effect on the financial system. People will not have any problem with this, people can easily exchange 2000 notes up to Rs 20,000 at a time by going to the bank. If someone refuses to exchange or deposit bank notes, people can complain to their bank manager at the concerned branch.
