Storm again in Delhi! The AAP government termed the central ordinance as contempt of the Supreme Court, an affront to the order

[ad_1]

The Delhi government has termed the central government’s ordinance in direct contempt of the Supreme Court order. According to the Delhi government, the Supreme Court had clearly said in its order that the elected government is supreme. The elected government has all the powers. The ordinance has been brought against the Supreme Court order and to curtail the rights of the Kejriwal government.

The Kejriwal government made a statement late at night

A statement issued by the Delhi government late at night said that the Supreme Court agreed that if the public voted for Kejriwal, Kejriwal should have the right to take all decisions. But the central government is saying through this ordinance that a person elected by the people of Delhi should not have the right to take decisions in favor of the people of Delhi. This is an insult to the order of the Supreme Court as well as the order of the people of Delhi.

AAP leaders attacked the BJP

At the same time, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and cabinet minister Atishi said the ordinance proved that the BJP and the central government were only afraid of Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP fears that if all the power goes to Kejriwal, it will be impossible to stop the Kejriwal model from spreading across the country. Atishi termed the Centre’s move as a betrayal.

The central government issued an ordinance to empower the lieutenant governor

Importantly, the central government on Friday issued an ordinance regarding the rights of the Delhi government. After the Supreme Court’s decision, the Center issued an ordinance. According to the Ordinance, the right of transfer-posting of officers in Delhi lies not only with the Chief Minister, but the final decision rests with the Lieutenant Governor.

Final decision regarding transfer and posting will be taken by LG

According to the ordinance, an authority has been created for transfer and posting of officers in the capital. It will have Chief Minister Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Secretary and Chief Home Secretary. If there is any dispute in the transfer and posting of officers, the final decision will be taken by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

Kejriwal had already expressed apprehension about the ordinance

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed apprehension about the ordinance brought by the Center only yesterday evening. He tweeted and wrote, Why is the LG sir not following the order of the Supreme Court? Why was the service secretary’s file not signed for two days? It is being said that the Center will reverse the Supreme Court order by bringing an ordinance next week? Is the central government plotting to overturn the Supreme Court order? Is LG waiting for an ordinance, hence not signing the file?
