Rules related to civil litigation are not being followed in this matter. On the other hand, Hindu party lawyer Vishnu Jain said, ASI has given us a report that the place will not be damaged.

On that CJI DY Chandrachud said but said, we can also take report from ASI. The government is also considering what methods can be adopted. After this, the matter will be heard. We are issuing the notice as it has been accepted by all the parties. Now the High Court order needs to be reviewed. As such it should not be implemented.

What is the matter?

On May 12, the Allahabad High Court ordered the use of scientific tests, including advanced techniques such as carbon dating, to determine the age of a structure found in the Gnanawapi Masjid, which is claimed to be a Shivalinga.

The High Court set aside the order of the Varanasi District Court which dismissed the appeal seeking carbon dating and other scientific tests of the structures found during the survey of the Gnanavapi Masjid complex in May 2022.
