[ad_1]

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed Parliament building on May 28. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met PM Modi on Thursday after the construction work of the new Parliament building was completed. Also requested him to inaugurate this building.

On 5 August 2019, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha requested the government to construct a new building for Parliament. Following this, on 10 December 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament building. The newly constructed Parliament Building has been completed with quality in record time. The four-storied Parliament House has a seating arrangement for 1224 MPs.

Now the newly constructed Parliament House will further enrich India’s glorious democratic traditions and constitutional values. Along with this, the building equipped with state-of-the-art facilities will also help the members to do their work better.

More security arrangements will be made

Marshall will have a new dress for the new parliament building. Strict and innovative security arrangements will be made here. In the last week of March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to the new Parliament building and inquired about the work going on here. PM Modi, who stayed in the new Parliament House for more than an hour, also spoke to the activists.

888 members can sit in the Lok Sabha

The current Parliament building has provision for 550 seats in the Lok Sabha and 250 in the Rajya Sabha. Keeping in mind the future needs, the newly constructed Parliament House has seating arrangements for 888 members of the Lok Sabha and 384 members of the Rajya Sabha. The joint session of both the Houses will be held only in the Lok Sabha Chamber. There will also be a lounge for Members of Parliament, a library, several committee rooms, a dining area and ample parking space.

How much money was the new parliament built?

The tender for the construction of the new Parliament was awarded to Tata Projects in September 2020. Its cost was estimated at Rs 861 crore. Later on due to some additional works this cost increased to Rs. 1200 crores reached.

Why was the date of May 28 chosen for the inauguration?

Narendra Modi took oath for the first time on 26 May and for the second time on 30 May. In such a situation, the debate is also why the new Parliament building is being inaugurated on May 28? Events to mark nine years of the Modi government will also officially begin on May 30, so why was May 28 chosen to inaugurate the new Parliament building?

Interestingly, May 28 is the birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar. He was born on 28 May 1883. This year his 140th birth anniversary will be celebrated on May 28. Now it remains to be seen whether the inauguration of the new Parliament building on Veer Savarkar’s birth anniversary is just a coincidence or well-planned.
