Paschim Singhbhum, May 19 (Hindustan Times). A 10-year-old boy was killed by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Maoists in Chaibasa district. The incident took place late on Thursday evening near Rengra village in the most Naxal-infested remote Tonto police station area. The police received information about this today (Friday) morning.

Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar says that Tonto police have been sent to Rengra as soon as the information was received in the morning. A detailed explanation will be given only after the employees of the department reach there. Currently there is only information that the child has died in this incident.

It is worth mentioning that at this time the police have started a campaign to eliminate Naxalism in many police station areas of the district. Due to which Naxalites are angry. To thwart this operation, the Maoists have started planting IEDs in the forest.
