Telangana government announces Rs 2 crore for boxer Nikhat Zareen

Hyderabad, May 19 (Hindustan Times). Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on Thursday evening announced a grant of Rs 2 crore to world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen to meet her training, coaching and transport expenses for her participation in the Olympic Games.

Nikhat paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister at the Secretariat here.

Speaking on the occasion, KCR wished the world boxing champion to once again spread the glory of India, including Telangana, to the world by winning a gold medal in the upcoming Olympics.

The Chief Minister said that the state government will extend full cooperation to Nikhat Zareen, who has already won several medals at various forums of the world, to participate in the upcoming Olympic Games.

State Sports Minister V. Srinivas Goud along with Ministers Mahmood Ali, Prashant Reddy, Mallar Reddy, Sports Authority Chairman E Anjaneya Goud, Sports Secretary Sandeep Sultania and other officials were also present on the occasion.
