To fulfill the five promises made by the Congress to the people of Karnataka before the elections, the state government exchequer will spend Rs. 50,000 crore will be burdened.
Talking about the expenditure on welfare schemes announced by the Congress, senior party leaders said that these schemes cannot be considered free as they are a source of empowerment.
Political experts believe that the five promises made by the Congress have given it a big advantage in the elections. It is believed that because of these promises, women voted for the Congress in the elections to be held on May 10.
Significantly, in the assembly elections held on May 10, the Congress won 135 out of 224 seats while the BJP won only 66 and the JDS 19.
Some BJP leaders have said that if the Congress fails to fulfill its promises, there is a possibility of a financial crisis in the state of Karnataka. He claimed that the Congress would not be able to fully fulfill its promises.
Election campaign Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders have repeatedly said that if their government is formed in the state, they will begin the process of fulfilling the promises made in the first cabinet meeting.
In the election campaign, Congress announced five welfare schemes Griha Jyoti, Griha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi and Shakti. 200 units of electricity will be provided free of cost under Griha Jyoti Yojana. Under the Griha Lakshmi Yojana, the female head of the family will be given Rs 2000 per month.
In Anna Bhagya Yojana, each BPL family member will be given 10 kg of rice per month. Under the Yuva Nidhi Yojana, unemployed graduates in the age group of 18 to 25 years will get Rs. 3000 and unemployed diploma holders for two years Rs. 1500 will be given. Under Shakti Yojana, women will be able to travel free of cost in government buses across the state.
