Noida: A drug manufacturing laboratory set up by foreign nationals has been unearthed in a house in Greater Noida. The police gave this information in a statement.
Gautam Budh Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh has said that 9 foreign nationals of African origin have been arrested and 46 kg of methamphetamine worth Rs 200 crore in the international market has been seized.
Singh has further stated that methamphetamine in white original form has been seized. Nine foreign nationals were living on rent in Greater Noida’s Sector Theta-2. Police have also seized raw material which was used for Rs. 100 crore worth of methamphetamine can be made.
According to the police, eight of the nine foreigners arrested are Nigerian nationals while one is a Senegalese national. The seized raw materials include methyl alcohol, hypo phosphoric acid, hydrosulfuric acid, iodine crystals, ammonia, ephedrine, acetone, sulphur, copper salt. Apart from this, equipment used in the production of medicine including high quality face masks have also been seized.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Saad Mia Khan, who led the police team that raided the house, no identity cards of foreign nationals were found during the raid.
Khan told reporters that these foreign nationals have been reported to the countries’ embassies. Also the entire incident has been reported to ANTF (Anti-Narcotics Task Force) and NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau).
