Lucknow, May 17 (Hindustan Times). These days the city is in the grip of cricket due to the ongoing IPL match in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Keeping this in mind, an art exhibition was launched in the city, the highlight of which is that artists have created artwork on the cricket bat itself. Veteran Zimbabwean cricketer and Lucknow Supergiants team head coach Andy Flower also came to watch the performance on Wednesday to see the same.
He saw in great detail all the 22 works of the Saraka Art Gallery exhibition located in the city’s Mall Avenue and also praised the artists. Earlier, Mumbai Indians team player Piyush Chawla has also come to meet his wife. Apart from this, Romario Shepherd Ayush Badani of the Lucknow Supergiants team also praised the performances on the bat. Signed the bat for good luck.
Exhibition coordinator Bhupendrakumar Asthana said that contemporary artists from eight states of the country have created paintings on cricket bats. The performance is being discussed in national and international sports and art circles. The curator of the exhibition is Vandana Sehgal. Earlier on Sunday, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state Brijesh Pathak had inaugurated the exhibition. All the creations on display at the four-day art camp have been prepared. The exhibition will run till June 3.
