West Bengal is going to get one more Vande Bharat train today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Howrah-Piri Vande Bharat Express today. This will be the first Vande Bharat for Odisha. The train will be operated as per the South Eastern Division of Railways.
PM Modi will virtually inaugurate the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express. PM Modi will flag off the virtual train at around 1 pm.
Union Minister Ashwini Kumar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give green light to the Vande Bharat train between Puri and Howrah. Railway work is going on fast in Odisha. People are showing enthusiasm for this train. Apart from this, PM Modi will inaugurate a project worth 8200 crore rupees.
Union Minister Ashwani Kumar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated Rs 10,000 crore for development works in Odisha. A state with the potential to become a $1 trillion economy 10 years ago was allocated only Rs 800 crore for development.
The Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat train covers a distance of 500 km from Kolkata at around 6:30 a.m. and carries thousands of people every day. Currently, the only premium train plying on this route is the Shatabdi Express. The existing Shatabdi Express takes 7 hours to cover the same distance.
Vande Bharat Deshdroh will run 6 days a week except Thursday. The train will depart from Howrah at 6:30 AM and arrive at 12:35 PM. In turn it will depart from Puri at 1:50 PM and reach Howrah at 8:30 PM.
