The Khelo India University Games will be as grand as the Global Investors Summit

Lucknow, May 17 (Hindustan Times). The Yogi government has made vigorous preparations for organizing the Khelo India University Games, which Uttar Pradesh is going to host for the first time. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi, the organization of these Games will be as grand as the Global Investors Summit in the month of February.

It may be mentioned that all the preparations for the Khelo India University Games to be held from May 25 in four cities of UP are in the final stage. With the help of successful organizing of these games, the government aims to organize more major sporting events.

The games will be historic

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare (Independent Charge) Girish Chandra Yadav reviewed the Khelo India University Games at the BBD Badminton Academy control room on Wednesday. He said that wherever the competitions are held in the state, health facilities should be well maintained. Better arrangements should be made for the travel of the players. There should be maximum provision of drinking water keeping in mind the summer. There should be better security arrangements for male and female athletes coming to participate in the competition. Nutritious food will be provided to the players.

He said that organizing the Khelo India University Games successfully is everyone’s responsibility. This is why the officials of all the departments involved in the event have to work with team spirit and make the University Games historic.

Sports broadcast from 25 screens

Additional Chief Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. Navneet Sehgal informed that the Khelo India University Games will be organized like the Global Investors Summit (GIS). The entire city will be seen in the colors of Khelo India University. High level facilities are being provided for players and other visitors. Good arrangements will be made to welcome the players at the airport. The game will be telecast on 25 screens in four cities. Marathons will be organized to ensure public participation in the games.

A small hospital will be built at all locations

The Additional Chief Secretary informed that a small hospital will be constructed at all the venues scheduled for the competition. Doctors will be on duty. Generic medicines will be available. Hospitals are also marked around the sports venue. They can be used if necessary. Along with this, adequate arrangement of ambulance will also be made. For this, instructions have been sent to the Chief Medical Officers of Lucknow, Noida, Varanasi and Gorakhpur.

Dr. Sehgal informed that the services of 1500 volunteers including 200 NCC cadets will be engaged to facilitate the players. Apart from this, 42 liaison officers of various universities have also been appointed. AC rooms have been arranged for the accommodation of the players. He said that during the competition ministers of the state including other states will be invited for prize distribution.
