SC gives SEBI 3 months to complete probe into Hindenburg’s allegations against Adani

The Supreme Court has given an extension to SEBI to complete the probe into the allegations made in a report by Hindenburg Research firm, an American short-seller that rocked the Adani group. Now time has been given till August 14 in this matter.

This decision has been given by the bench headed by CJI

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud gave this verdict. It is notable that SEBI had filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking 6 months time to complete the investigation in this matter, but the Supreme Court has given SEBI about 3 months time in this matter. That is, SEBI now has to complete the investigation in this matter by 14 August 2023. Along with this, the apex court directed to give copies of the report submitted by the panel of retired Justice Supra to all the parties.
