Dubai : Scotland have announced their 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier to be held in Zimbabwe. Youngsters have also been given a chance along with senior players in the team.
The qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup will be played from June 18 to July 9. Two teams will qualify through the qualifier tournament. This time the Cricket World Cup will be organized in India from 5 October 2023 to 19 November 2023.
In a statement issued by the ICC, Scotland team’s interim head coach Doug Watson said that I think there is a good mix of youth and senior players in this team. He said that there is clearly a great opportunity coming to Zimbabwe. The people that we have shortlisted are really excited. They know how tough the challenge is going to be.
Watson said that the conditions are changing there, which will be favorable for the spinners. The important thing for us will be to adapt to the conditions and play the way we want to play.
