GST Scam: A special drive was launched by the GST department across the state to unearth fake firms. In this drive, the figure of GST scam has crossed 8 thousand crores. 6200 companies of the state have been caught in the investigation of GST scam.
About 6200 companies caught by the department have been closed. Along with this, the process of recovering the check stolen amount of Rs 8000 thousand crore has been carried out. The police have arrested three accused in the GST scam. Among the three people who have been arrested, a businessman named Mursid Alam Syed of Surat, Usmanangani Fatani of Bhavnagar and Mukul Yadav of Ahmedabad have been arrested. All the accused were running GST scam in the guise of scrap business.
Since the registration system of GST has failed so far, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has ordered a re-examination of the system. Due to which SGST and CGST will go in place to check the registration of 11.50 lakh trader-taxpayers of the state, after which many questions have spread among the taxpayers and traders of the state.
Screening of firms of about 11.50 lakh traders across the state will be done. A special drive will be launched for two months to detect fake firms, false registrations. There has been a stir among the taxpayers and traders of the state regarding this campaign of GST.
