How To Money Back Wrong Payment: Everyone knows the range of digital payments in our country at present. More and more people are using UPI for every small transaction. Especially after demonetisation and Corona, there has been a huge increase in digital payments in the country. Instead of standing in queues at banks and ATMs, money is being transferred using UPI only. But many times by mistake they deposit money in other people’s account. A similar error occurs when the UPI ID is entered incorrectly or the mobile number is entered incorrectly. You don’t have to worry about losing your money if these erroneous transactions happen. You can easily get your money back.
When you make a wrong transaction with an app like Google Pay, Phone Pay, Paytm, call the customer care of the respective platform immediately. Disclose the details of the transaction to the customer executive. File a complaint. Also you have to complain to your bank. As per RBI guidelines..in case of wrongful payment..money has to be refunded within 48 hours of complaint. But the complaint should be made within 3 days of the transaction. When the payment is done in the wrong bank account through UPI, Net banking.. then do not forget to complain on the number given by RBI.
Then go to the concerned bank.. fill the application there.. provide all the details. If bank officials refuse to help..complain to ombudsman of RBI. The complaint can be lodged on the website bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in. But keep in mind that do not delete the message related to the transaction from the phone. Do not forget to mention all other details along with your complaint along with PPBL number in the complaint form.
You can also report erroneous transactions through the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) website. Double check the details like their UPI ID, their phone number, the amount transferred to the account you are depositing the money in. Be careful while entering your UPI PIN. If any of these things go wrong.. there is a possibility that the money will go into someone else’s account. Under no circumstances click on any unknown link while making online payment.
