Bahraich: Outsourcing workers protest over pay, take out march

Bahraich: Outsourcing employees of Nagar Palika Parishad Bahraich staged a protest on Wednesday against non-payment of salaries, raising slogans. The employees took out a rally from the municipality to the office, after which a petition was handed over to the Municipal Magistrate. All demanded to be paid.

Outsourcing has deployed hundreds of employees in the municipality. In which employees are deployed on other platforms including sweepers, waterworks, lighting, road gang, computer operator. But works all the time.

Uttar Pradesh Safai Mazdoor Sangh branch president Rakesh Kumar Balmiki said that since 11 months all the workers have not been paid their salaries. During the dharna demonstration three months ago, the administrative officer said that after two months everyone will be paid. But the salary has not been paid despite the completion of the period. In such a situation, all the employees have come down to the road under compulsion. Everyone raised slogans and protested against the municipality. After this, the collector office reached the DM office and raised slogans. He submitted a memorandum to City Magistrate Shalini Prabhakar demanding salary.
