Khandwa: Hindu society reacts to the lynching of Rajendra alias Raju by his Muslim in-laws in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. Hindu Jagran Manch and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have expressed their outrage over the whole incident. The office bearers of both these organizations have started a movement against the jihadi mentality and have accused the police of negligence. Hindu Jagran Manch district coordinator Dr. Anish Arjakhar said that if the police were alert and serious, this crime would not have happened. Had Rajendra Upakhya listened to Raju, he would have been alive in front of us today. Anish Arzare also says that this is the difference in marrying a Muslim girl in Hindu society. Rajendra neither changed Amarin’s name nor religion. Instead he took her to meet her parents. But the jihadist minded people surrounded him in his own house and killed his son-in-law because he was a Hindu.

It may be mentioned that her husband Rajendra died yesterday morning due to beating by the relatives of Amreen, who lives in Piplod Police Station area of the district. Rajendra was beaten so badly by his mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law in front of his wife that he died during treatment in the hospital. According to the story, Rajendra alias Raju came to Singot in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh from Khandel village of Sikar district of Rajasthan three years ago. While working here he one day met Mumtaz, daughter of Amreen (age 20). Gradually both started liking each other. Both ran away from home in January 2021 and got married and went into hiding. On January 7, 2022, on the complaint of Amarin’s family, the police also took them back, but Amarin gave a statement that he was an adult and married of his own free will. She marries and lives with Rajendra.

The case was closed after this statement. Meanwhile, Amarin also became the mother of a daughter. It is being said that Amarin’s family members kept talking to him after this. pretended to normalize relations. And finally called him home on the pretext of Singot. Rajendra himself left Amarin to meet his parents at home. But in the last one month, whenever he came to take him back, he was humiliated, pushed and sent back. He even went to seek help from the police in this matter, but the department provided food and did not help him.

On 13 May, Rajendra once again reached his home to request his wife Amarin and their daughter to accompany him. But Amarin’s Abbu, Ammi and Bhaijaan and some other relatives surrounded Rajendra alone and beat him badly. Injured Rajendra dialed 100 and somehow informed the police. The police took him away from the spot. He advised Rajendra to return home citing an apparently minor injury. On May 15, Rajendra’s health suddenly deteriorated. The locals admitted him to the district hospital. Doctors said that he has suffered serious internal injuries. He died on May 16 (Tuesday) morning during treatment.

In this regard, Superintendent of Police Satyendra Kumar Shukla says that the police have registered a case and are investigating. A case of murder has been registered against father-in-law and brother-in-law of deceased Rajendra Upakhya Raju. Police have admitted that Raju died due to severe injuries sustained during the fight.
