Recommending appointment of two judges to the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the appointment of two judges to the central government. Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Senior Advocate K.V. Viswanathan has been recommended by the collegium under the CJI. If this recommendation is accepted, Justice J.B., who will retire on August 11, 2030. Viswanathan may replace Pardiwala as Chief Justice and will hold office till May 25, 2031. At present the sanctioned number of judges in the Supreme Court is 34. While 32 are operational.
