What is Kanya Suraksha Yojana?
The Chief Minister Kanya Suraksha Yojana of Bihar is run by the state government. It aims to reduce discrimination between boys and girls and register more births of girls.
Under this scheme, the Bihar government deposits Rs 2000 in the bank as soon as a girl child is born. This amount is deposited in the bank till the girl turns 18 and interest is paid on it. If the girl child dies before completing 18 years, the amount is transferred to Mahila Vikas Nigam, Bihar.
Eligibility for Chief Minister Girl Child Protection Scheme
Only families living below the poverty line get the benefit of this scheme.
– The benefit of the scheme is given to a maximum of two girls.
Girls born after 22 November 2007 get the benefit of Bihar Chief Minister Kanya Suraksha Yojana.
– The applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
This scheme can be implemented only after three years of the birth of a girl child.

To take advantage of this scheme, Aadhaar card, mobile number, birth certificate of the girl child, residence certificate, ration card, bank passbook and BPL card etc. are required.
