The Shiromani Committee will hand over the filled proforma to the Governor regarding Bandi Singh’s release on May 18. More than 25 lakh people have filled this proforma.

Amritsar: The proforma filled under the signature campaign launched by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhan Samiti for the release of Sikhs imprisoned in various jails across the country will be handed over to Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on May 18, 2023.
Led by Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Senior Vice President Baldev Singh Kempur, Junior Vice President Avtar Singh Rhea, General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal and Secretary Pratap Singh will go to hand over the proforma to the Governor of Punjab. The event was earlier scheduled for April 27, but was postponed due to the demise of Shiromani Akali Dal chief and former Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal.
Shiromani Samiti Secretary Pratap Singh said that the signature drive for the release of Bandiwan Singhs was started from December 1, 2022, which lasted till April 14, 2023. More than 25 lakh people have filled the proforma under this campaign, which will be handed over to the Governor of Punjab in the name of the President on May 18 at 11 am. Before this, there will be a prayer meeting at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on May 18 at 6.30 am, in which Singh Sahib and Shiromani Samiti members will participate.
