Housing Sales FY 2023: If you too have been saving for years to buy your own home, but are afraid to take the plunge because of the market downturn, then this is a must-know for you. In the financial year 2022-2023, there has been a tremendous jump in the sale of houses in seven major cities of the country. Sales in the real estate market have increased by 48 percent this year as compared to last year. 3.47 lakh crore houses have been sold this year. Real estate firm Anarock said the real estate market is booming due to high demand and rising house prices.
According to the real estate firm, housing property sales are expected to increase from Rs 2,34,850 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 3,46,960 crore in 2022-23. In terms of numbers, domestic sales are expected to increase from 2,77,783 units in 2021-22 to 3,79,095 units in 2022-23. These figures are based on new sale transactions in the housing sector. Anarock Group Chairman Anuj Puri said, “India’s residential real estate sector is marching ahead without fear of recession and setting unprecedented sales benchmarks.”
Residential sales in Delhi NCR grew by 42 per cent to Rs 50,620 crore from Rs 35,610 crore last year. Talking about Mumbai, it has increased by 46 percent to Rs 1,14,190 crore in 2021-22 and Rs 1,67,210 crore in 2022-23. While sales in Bengaluru have increased by 49 per cent to Rs 38,870 crore as compared to last year.
