Sri Ganga Nagar: Rajasthan’s Self-Government Department has issued an order suspending Raisinghnagar Municipality Chairman Manish Kaushal on corruption and other charges. Manish Kaushal became a Councilor from Ward No. 28 of Risingnagar in General Election-2020 on a BJP ticket and was elected as the Chairman of the Board.
In this regard, Municipal Deputy Chairman Harish Kumar Dabi tried to disrupt the state government’s public welfare schemes and complained to the tax department about malpractice in awarding contracts for construction, advertisement, hoardings and banners to firms with indirect participation. Allegation of loss of government treasury and corruption.
According to the complaint, all the Khanja lands allotted in Campaign-2021 along with the administration villages are part of roads and not Khanja lands. Apart from this, complaints were made against land mafias for cutting illegal settlements and causing huge loss to the government exchequer.
The complaint was investigated by the Regional Deputy Director, Local Government Department, Bikaner, where the allegations were accepted as true. On this, the Investigating Officer, Regional Deputy Director recommended strict action against Manish Kaushal.
On this, the Autonomous Government Department, Jaipur has issued a notice to chairman Kaushal to present his side on April 27 and sought an explanation within three days. Disagreeing with this explanation, the state government suspended him from the post. A judicial inquiry will also be conducted by the government in the matter related to the allegations.
After the suspension of Chairman Kaushal, his opposition group has camped in Jaipur. He has started the race to get his party’s councilor the charge of the chairman. According to the information, 14 of BJP, 03 of Congress, 01 independent of CPM, 15 and 02 independent councilors supported by BJP won in the municipal board of 35 members.
