The ED again sent a notice to NCP leader Jayant Patil, directing him to appear on May 22

Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has again served notice to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Jayant Patil for questioning in the ‘IL&FS’ case. In this notice, the ED directed Jayant Patil to appear for questioning on May 22.

Earlier, the ED had issued a notice to Jayant Patil. Jayant Patil then wrote a letter to ED seeking time. Because of this letter, ED has now summoned Jayant Patil for questioning on May 22.

It is being said that some of the accused companies in the ‘IL&FS’ case have given commission money to some organizations associated with Jayant Patil. The ED is to question Patil regarding these transactions and record his statement.

It may be mentioned that there are allegations of large-scale irregularities in the financial transactions of ‘IL&FS’ and the company has been declared insolvent. Earlier, a notice was sent to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray in this regard. Arun Kumar Saha’s custodial interrogation in the case led to several names coming up, including that of Jayant Patil.
