Next Chief Minister of Karnataka: After the huge victory in Karnataka, the discussion of the next Chief Minister of the state has intensified in the Congress. There is still suspense in the party whether DK Shivakumar or Siddaramaiah will be the next Chief Minister of the state.
It is believed that the party will announce the name of the next Chief Minister of the state today. In the meeting of the Congress Legislature on Sunday, the decision of the Leader of the Legislature was left to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Let us tell you that after this big victory, the biggest challenge facing Khadge is not to allow any kind of rift in the legislature party. The way supporters of DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah raised slogans in support of their leaders has created a new problem for the party.
Siddaramaiah is a veteran leader who has been the Chief Minister of the state in the past as well. Also, DK Shivakumar has been a minister during Siddaramaiah’s tenure. So if DK is made CM, there will be a difference in Siddaramaiah’s camp.
For Kharge, going with Siddaramaiah seems a better option. If top party sources are to be believed, Khadge may announce Siddaramaiah’s name as Chief Minister, while DK Shivakumar may be given a larger ministry. He will hold the second position in the government.
Sources close to the party say that DK Shivakumar will be given a bigger responsibility and later he will be given the Chief Minister’s chair. Although the Congress party is saying about the CM selection that we will solve it soon, but the way things are going on within the party regarding the CM, it is clear that all is not well in the party.
After the election victory, on one hand DK Shivakumar became emotional and remembered Sonia Gandhi, on the other hand Siddaramaiah credited the contribution of all the leaders for the victory but did not mention DK Shivakumar’s name.
