Guwahati, May 13 (HS). Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is taking several initiatives to provide advanced and better customer interface to freight transport. Amidst such initiatives, few more stations have been opened for operations of inbound and outbound freight traffic during April, 2023.
Sabyasachi Dey, CPRO, PUSIRE today informed that in order to improve customer interface and increase freight revenue, Hojai FCI siding under Lumding division has been opened for transportation of food grains from April 21. Forbesganj station under Katihar division has been opened for operation of both food grains and maize transportation for a period of six months from April 24 last. In addition, Barsoi station under Katihar division has been opened for operation of inbound coal and outbound maize traffic for a period of six months from 24th April last. Dekargaon station under Rangiya division has been opened for the operation of coal transportation from April 24 last.
The loading and unloading of freight trains has increased with the upgradation of customer interface and opening of new terminals. This will result in a significant increase in the revenue of PUSIRE in the years to come.
