Agra, May 13 (Hindustan Times). The results of the Agra Municipal Corporation elections are out. Here BJP has won once again. BJP’s mayoral candidate Hemlata Diwakar won with a margin of 1.08 lakh votes despite a tough fight with BSP’s Dr. Lata Valmiki.
With the victory of Hemlata Diwakar, the BJP has won the Agra Municipal Corporation elections for the seventh time. Out of 100 wards of Agra Municipal Corporation, BJP has won 58, BSP 27, SP 3, Independent 11 and Congress 1 ward.
BJP’s mayoral candidate Hemlata Diwakar won with a margin of 1.08 lakh votes despite a tough fight with BSP’s Dr. Lata Valmiki. Hemlata Diwakar got 2 lakh 67 thousand 925 votes while BSP got total 1 lakh 59 thousand 457 votes. Along with this, independent Shriram Dhakad from Ward-76 of cabinet minister Yogendra Upadhyay has defeated the BJP candidate by winning by 276 votes.
BJP’s corporator candidate from Ward-26 Pooja, Pooja Bansal from Ward-56, Nishant Singh from Ward-51, Rakesh Kanojia from Ward-36, Murari Lal from Ward-91, Anuj Kumar Sharma from Ward-92, Amit Ward from 81 Hemlata Chauhan, candidate from Ward-41, Jaideep Sonkar, Ward-05, Seshard Chauhan, BJP candidate from New Ward-53, Prakash Keswani, BJP Councilor Niranjan Singh from Ward-46, BJP Councilor Badri Prasad from Ward-46 and others have won.
