A massive fire broke out in a sweet shop in Punjab’s Muktsar city at around 1 pm on Friday. Where all the goods were burnt to ashes due to the fire, there was a huge explosion in 4 cylinders. This shook the whole building. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but the fire was so severe that it was brought under control after 4 hours of effort.
According to the information received, there is a Makkar Sweet store in front of street number 2 on Abohar Road in Muktsar, in which goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes due to fire. 4 gas cylinders kept in the shop also exploded, causing a lot of damage to the 2-storey shop. As soon as the fire was reported, the fire engine reached the spot and after a lot of effort, the fire was controlled.
Giving information about the incident, Sub Fire Incharge Jaswinder Singh said that he received the information about the fire at 1.35 pm. He reached the spot with fire engines in 5 to 10 minutes, but the fire was so severe that fire engines had to be called from Kotkapura, Malout as well. Meanwhile, a fire broke out due to the explosion in the cylinder kept in the shop. The fire was brought under control after about 4 hours of effort.
